NATIONAL BANK TO OPEN IN SUPERMARKETS
By Adnews Staff
Now when consumers go to the supermarket they can pick up eggs, milk, butter, RRSP's, loan applications and cash advances. Banking transactions will be available next to the milk aisle this year, with the announcement that the National Bank of Canada will be opening 30 new branches in supermarkets across Canada. The branches, which are being promoted through in-store advertising and joint promotions with the stores, will offer full banking services. The branches will be in some Quebec grocery stores and the National Bank is looking to move into other grocery stores throughout Canada. National Bank of Canada has been offering services in some stores in Quebec since September 1996. Advertising for the National Bank of Canada is done by the Carlson Marketing Group of Montreal.
