BCI BANK UNVEILS EURO SERVICES

BCI Bank of Toronto launched a line of Euro currency products and services this week. The products and services are available to consumer and commercial markets. They are: BCI Bank Euro Current Accounts, Euro Premium Interest Savings Accounts, Redeemable Euro Term Deposits, Euro Drafts and Euro Swifts. Travellers' cheques will be added in the new year. The products are in direct response to the European Economic Monetary Union's introduction of their new common currency, the Euro. Countries involved in the union are Austria, Belgium Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. For individual clients, BCI Bank offers Euro Premium Interest Savings Accounts and Euro Term Deposits including a choice of 30 to 364 days and one to five year terms. For business clients, BCI offers Euro Current Accounts and Euro Term Deposits including a choice of 30 to 364 days and one to five year terms, as well as Euro Swifts and Euro Drafts. BCI will promote the new products using in-branch collateral materials created by LEL of Toronto. Other advertising plans are still under review. BCI Bank has branches in Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia. It is owned by Banca Commerciale Italiana.
