FEDERAL EXPRESS TAKES SOFTWARE BILINGUAL

Federal Express Canada of Mississauga, Ont. has launched the bilingual version of its Internet shipping software. Called interNetship 4.0, the program is available in English and French. It allows customers to complete necessary shipping documentation online and obtain a package tracking number. Features include quick login, which automatically recalls and enters the users ID and FedEx account number; Future Day Shipping, which lets customers process shipments eight days in advance and Expanded Default Setting, which allows customers to set default controls to have frequently used shipping data flow automatically. Customers can also tailor shipping information for each recipient by filling out the default shipping information section. Federal Express will promote the software using banner ads on its Web site, as well as through its customer newsletter. The campaign will be developed in-house with the help of FCB Direct of Toronto. Federal Express has had the English language version of interNetship up and running for two years.
