WAL-MART TO JUMP INTO NATURAL NUTRITION MARKET
By Adnews Staff
Wal-Mart Canada of Mississauga, Ont. is getting in on the trend for herbal and natural healthcare products. The national retailer will begin opening nutrition centres inside the pharmacy departments of its stores beginning early next year. There will be 50 outlets opened next year mainly in Ontario and British Columbia. Wal-Mart will eventually roll the nutrition centres out to all of its stores where space permits. Called Once Source Nutrition Centre, the department will offer more than 1,500 natural healthcare products such as vitamins, mineral supplements and herbal remedies, as well as health foods and sports nutrition products. Each outlet will be about 500 square feet in size. Wal-Mart will promote One Source using in-store signs created by MGB Enterprises of Toronto. Bag stuffers and mall posters created in-house will also be used. Wal-Mart operates 152 stores across Canada.
