TV STATIONS IGNORE AD RULING
By Adnews Staff
U.K.-based Scottish Television and Grampian plan to air an ad that was rejected by the Broadcast Advertising Clearance Centre. The ad is for Miller beer and it was created by U.K.-based Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe. It features U.S. talk show host Johnny Miller. In the ad, he is seen in the Scottish countryside wearing a fox hat, saying "When I told the guys back home I was coming to Auchtermuchty, they said wear a fox hat." The ad was rejected by the BACC because the organization believes the second line sounds like Miller is saying "where the f***'s that?" Scottish Television and Grampian have decided to show the ad between adult late night programs because they say the ad is funny.
