MONSTER BOARD CELEBRATES ONE YEAR

Monster Board Canada is celebrating its first year with success. The company operates an online job search site. Over the past year the number of visitors to its site has increased from 40,000 to 530,000. The number of jobs being offered is on the rise as well, moving up from 600 to 2000. Over 990 of those jobs were based in Ontario. Users of the site can either post their resume for potential employers or they can use key words to look at careers they may be interested in. Users can also register with Swoop, the job search agent. It will search the database of jobs while they are off-line. The site features close to over 400 job categories. The users of MonsterBoard Canada are between the ages of 24 and 49, with 72% of them holding post-secondary diplomas. Sixty-five per cent of them have over three years experience in their chosen field, a third of which have over 10 years experience. About 9% of users have less than one year experience. Twenty-five per cent have a gross annual salary of over $50,000, while 45% earn between $24,000 and $50,000. Monster Board Canada is owned by U.S.-based TMP Worldwide.
