OKIDATA LAUNCHES BRANDING INITIATIVE

Okidata of Mississauga, Ont. is trying to raise the profile of the company name. The company has launched a branding initiative with a new icon and new tagline. The new icon is OKI and the new tagline is "People To People Technology." The two are meant to convey the partnership between people doing business and the printed documents they exchange. The move was made because "we want our brand identity to reflect our commitment to the people who use our products on a day-to-day basis," Canadian general manager Lon Campbell says in a release. The new icon and tagline will be seen on all packaging, advertising, collateral materials, letterhead/business cards and on the company's Web site. Canadian advertising for Okidata is handled by the U.S. agency of Okidata's U.S. parent company. Canadian PR is done by The Communications Group of Toronto. Okidata markets computer printers and fax machines.
