SHAW TO SELL STAKE IN HEADLINE SPORTS

Shaw Communications of Calgary has put its stake in Headline Sports on the shopping block. Currently, the company has a 47.85% interest in the specialty channel. The sale is being handled by RBC Dominion Securities. Headline Sports was licensed by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission in September 1996. It is a 24-hour sports network featuring sports highlights and news. Headline Sports was launched in May 1997 and is available in 5.5 million households across Canada. Shaw provides cable television services and has interests in radio broadcasting, television networks and direct-to-home satellite TV services. In addition, it offers telecommunications and paging services to individual and business customers.
