THE WEATHER NETWORK GETS SOME OUTSIDE HELP

Holmes & Lee of Toronto picked up a new account earlier this month. The agency will now be handling advertising for The Weather Network. Holmes & Lee won the business after a competition with an undisclosed number of agencies. Gaggi Media of Toronto will handle the media portion of the business. "We are very excited to have retained the resources of Holmes & Lee and Gaggi Media to help build The Weather Network brand in Canada," general manager and senior vice-president Rick Ridgway says in a release. "We are confident that garnering the expertise, talent and experience of Holmes & Lee and Gaggi Media will serve as an integral part of our communications strategy for our future." Until now, advertising for The Weather Network was handled in-house. Holmes & Lee's first campaign for The Weather Network will be launched in the new year. It will use outdoor and TV ads, and possibly other media. The Weather Network is owned by Pelmorex of Mississauga, Ont.
