SEIKO LAUNCHES TV CAMPAIGN FOR KINETIC WATCHES
By Adnews Staff
Seiko launched its first Canadian television campaign since the early 90's last week as the last stage of a Christmas push in support of the company's Kinetic series of watches. "We are gearing up for the holiday rush and are already seeing strong interest in our Kinetic series as well as other brand segments," says Jeff Ferguson, advertising manager for Seiko brands in Canada. "We also feel that consumer interest will continue to escalate, given the demand we're already experiencing." Kinetic watches do not need batteries or winding, but convert the motion of the wearer's arm into a stored charge to power the works. The TV spots were created by the Martin Agency of Richmond, VA and localized for Canada by JUMP Communications of Toronto, which also handled the media buy. The TV ads cap off a national campaign of magazine and outdoor advertising which has been running since September. The campaign runs until Christmas.
