CATHAY PACIFIC REWORKS REWARD PROGRAM

Cathay Pacific Airways of Vancouver will change its frequent flyer program at the end of the year. The airline has signed a deal to enter Canadian Airlines' reward program, Canadian Plus. Under the plan, passengers will be able to exchange those points for reward travel on both Cathay and Canadian Airlines' flights. More details about the partnership will be released over the next few weeks. Cathay Pacific will promote its involvement in the Canadian Plus program beginning next year. Advertising for the airline is handled by MacLaren McCann's Vancouver office. Currently, Cathay Pacific is involved in Air Canada's loyalty reward program, Aeroplan. Cathay Pacific announced last week that it will team up with Canadian Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways and Qantas to form the new oneworld alliance. Beginning early next year, the five member airlines will phase in a range of initiatives to provide greater customer benefits, including more information and support and increased opportunities for rewards and recognition.
