WOMENS' CLOTHING CHAIN SNUBS SKINNY MODELS
By Adnews Staff
Womens' wear retailer Melanie Lyne of Montreal is promoting its clothing with a new twist. The company recently launched a national newspaper campaign that doesn't feature anorexic models. The ads feature regular women as they tell consumers what they want in life, for their children and what they want in an outfit and a clothing shop. The ads will appear in The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, The Ottawa Citizen, Montreal Gazette, Montreal La Presse and Quebec City's Le Soleil. The newspaper ads will be supported with a direct mail campaign. The campaign was created by The Crichton Kim-Kirkland Company of Toronto. Melanie Lyne operates 21 stores located in Toronto, London, Ont., Calgary, Vancouver, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City. The retailer is owned by Laura's Shoppe of Montreal.
