CANADIAN TIRE MONEY TURNS 40
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Canadian Tire Corp. is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its Canadian Tire money loyalty program. The retailer has launched a program that will honor special coupons at its Canadian Tire Gas Bars. The coupons will enable customers to multiply the amount of Canadian Tire "money" they receive back when they pay cash for gas. For example, a customer who buys 40 litres of gas will receive $1.25 in CT "money," which is five times what they would normally receive. The promotion will be supported using Canadian Tire's catalogue and point-of-sale materials created in-house. CT "money" was first introduced in 1958 as a cash bonus coupon along with the opening of the retailer's first gas bar in Toronto.
