CLEARLY CANADIAN TO CHARGE UP CUSTOMERS

Vancouver-based Clearly Canadian Beverage Corp. is testing a new energy drink in the U.S. Called Battery, the energy enhancement beverage is available in a 330 ml can featuring a black and gold design. The drink is made of caffeine, maltodextrin and guarana, a berry grown in the Amazon. Currently, Battery is being tested in Washington state. The company is waiting for approval to market the drink in Canada and is hoping to have Battery on Canadian store shelves in early 1999. Canadian advertising for Clearly Canadian is handled by Palmer Jarvis DDB of Vancouver and its Karacters Design Group division. Clearly Canadian also markets sparkling flavored water and REfresher.
