CANON UNVEILS DIGITAL CAMERA WITH LONG OPTICAL ZOOM

U.S.-based Canon Inc. has introduced a new digital camcorder to the North American market that the company says offers the longest optical zoom lens found on any digital camcorder. Called the Vistura, the camcorder has a 16X optical zoom lens and a Lens Shift Optical Image Stabilization for better picture quality that is clear and shake-free. In addition, the camcorder features a 2.8-inch LCD view screen with 190,000 pixels and can capture both high resolution motion video and digital stills. Other highlights include two recording modes, programmed auto exposure, digital effects such as art, sepia, black and white and strobe, digital fades, built-in audio speaker for playback, as well as 16-bit and 12-bit digital stereo sound. In Canada, Canon hasn't confirmed its advertising plans for the Vistura. The campaign will be created by Lackey Communications of Mississauga, Ont.
