TELUS LURES 25,000 CUSTOMERS

Telus Corp. of Edmonton has signed up 25,000 customers to its flat rate long distance calling plan that was launched last week. Sixty per cent of the new customers are coming back to Telus from other long distance suppliers. Called Your Way Unlimited, the plan allows customers to call anywhere in Canada during evenings and weekends for $19.95 per month. There is no limit on the length or number of calls. In addition, the plan offers daytime weekday calls to anywhere in Canada for 22 cents per minute and calls to the U.S. for 22 cents per minute, everyday, any-time-of-day. Your Way Unlimited is being promoted using ads in daily and weekly newspapers, as well as TV, outdoor and transit ads created by Ogilvy & Mather's Calgary office.
