YTV MOVES INTO SOFTWARE MARKET

Toronto-based YTV Canada has signed a computer software licensing agreement with Beamscope of Toronto. Under the deal, Beamscope will manufacture and distribute titles bearing the official YTV seal of approval. Six CD-ROMs will be launched in the first year of the agreement. Four of the programs will be available in September. They will be suitable for children aged four and older and are called Flipper, Sailor Moon, Gregory and the Hot Air Balloon and Eat My Dust. YTV will promote the CD-ROMs on its Web site and at its YTV site events. Individual dealers will also be responsible for promoting the programs. YTV is owned by Shaw Communications of Calgary. Beamscope is a sales, marketing and distribution company of brand name home office products, home computer software, video entertainment products and digital entertainment products.
