BELL OFFERS NEW INTERNET SERVICE
By Adnews Staff
Bell Canada launched a new service this week that will allow customers to surf the Internet without missing important phone calls. The new service is called Internet Call Display. Using the service, customers connected to the Internet via their telephone line will see a message displayed in a pop-up window on the screen showing the caller's name and number. With the click of the mouse, the surfer can choose from four options: they can interrupt their Internet session and take the call, redirect the call to their voice mail service, redirect the call to another local number or send a message to the caller that his call will be returned later or that he should call back later. If none of the options are chosen, the caller will automatically be transferred to the voice mail service. If the customer does not subscribe to voice mail, the caller will hear a message announcing that the person is not available to answer the call. Internet Call Display is available in Ontario and Quebec. In Ontario, it will be promoted using print and Internet ads created by Leo Burnett Co. of Toronto. The ads will begin next week. The Quebec campaign will be handled by Cossette Communication-Marketing of Montreal.
