MICROSOFT UNLEASHES NEW VIDEO GAMES

U.S.-based Microsoft Corp. is targeting video gamers with the release of three new sports computer games. The new games are called Microsoft Golf 1998 Edition, Monster Truck Madness 2 and Baseball 3D. The Golf 1998 Edition allows users to tee off with friends across the street or around the world via the Microsoft Internet Gaming Zone, local area networks and modems. The game came on the market in early May. Monster Truck Madness will hit store shelves this month and Baseball 3D will be available in early July. In Canada, Microsoft will announce advertising plans for the games later this month, with the release of its new operating system, Windows 98. Canadian advertising for Microsoft is done by Communiqué, while Hill & Knowlton does PR. Both agencies are based in Toronto.
