HIKERS HAVEN OPENS NEW CONCEPT STORE

Hikers Haven of Oakville, Ont. opened a new store this week that offers a shop-in-shop concept. The outlet is 9,000 square-feet in size and features nine boutiques within the store. Hikers Haven sells family camping, adventure travel apparel, footwear and equipment. Boutiques in the store include Banff Canada, Marmot Lodge, Ex Officio Travel, Helly Hansen, Mountain Hardware, Navitrak, North Face Summit Shop and Salomon. The store also features an interactive attraction that will simulate a thunder storm so customers can test their weatherproof garments. In addition, customers can create their own topographical maps. The store will be promoted using newspaper and transit ads created in-house. Hikers Haven has five other locations in Southern Ontario in Waterloo, London, Markham, Oakville and Guelph.
