BURGER KING CHOOSES COMMUNICATION BLEU BLANC ROUGE
By Adnews Staff
Montreal-based Communication bleu blanc rouge was handed the Quebec portion of the Burger King Canada account last week. The agency won the $2 million business after a competition with Diesel Marketing of Montreal. Burger King marketing director Chuck McAulay told Adnews in an earlier interview that the fast-food chain decided to hold a review because "we felt we needed to have a fresh look at what was happening in Quebec." The incumbent on the business was Marketel of Montreal. The agency was invited to pitch for the business, but chose not to because of a "difference in philosophy," Marketel president Jacques Duval told Adnews in an recent interview. In English Canada, RadioWorks of Toronto handles Burger King's radio advertising and adapts U.S. TV creative. TN Media of Toronto does media placement and buying.
