SOUTHAM INTRODUCES SEARCH ENGINE
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Southam Inc. launched an Internet search engine this week that the company says can navigate Web surfers to over 110 million Internet and Web documents. Users of the search engine will have access to French and English language news wire services from Canadian Press and Southam News Wire. In addition, the site offers the top local story of 22 daily newspapers across Canada. Other features of the site include Eh Mail, TheTrip.com and Hello Yellow. Eh Mail users can set up free e-mail accounts that can be accessed from the home page. TheTrip.com provides access to Internet travel reservations and information services. Travelers can make airline, hotel and car reservations, as well as access travel guides, interactive maps and weather reports. Hello Yellow is an online business directory. Using key word searches, visitors can access telephone numbers addresses and maps. Southam will promote the search engine using print, billboard, Internet and trade ads created by Grey Interactive of Toronto. The site's URL is http://www.canada.com.
