SOUTH AFRICA RE-JIGS MARKET STRATEGY
By Adnews Staff
The South African Tourism Board has closed its Canadian office and hired Toronto-based Travel Marketing Experts to promote the country here. The agency was hired after a competition with 19 other agencies. Satour decided to close its Canadian office, which was located in Toronto, because its government funding has been reduced and it wanted to allocate more money to actual marketing activities instead of maintaining an office, agency president Chris Ryall told Adnews yesterday. Travel Marketing Experts will handle travel shows, conduct travel agent educational seminars, daily liaison and fulfillment of brochures for consumers, trade and media, conduct sales calls to agents and tour operators, tour product development, as well as develop advertising and co-op activities.
