KODAK UNLEASHES NEW CAMPAIGNS, NEW PRODUCTS

Kodak Canada of Toronto will launch the TV portion of its campaign for its Advantix line of cameras and film in mid-April. Magazine ads have already begun. The Advantix line uses the Advanced Photo System format. Kodak recently added two new products to the line: a disposable camera and the 5800MRX zoom camera. The disposable camera offers two print formats: regular size photos and a panoramic format. In addition, the camera's flash takes as little as two-seconds to recharge. The 5800MRX is suitable for advanced amateur photographers and provides all of the features of other Advantix cameras such as mid-roll change, picture sensor, which offers advice while you're taking the picture, print and roll-captioning, double-exposure protection and flip-up flash.

Kodak isn't ignoring its other products. The company recently launched a campaign for its Gold Max 35mm film using TV, magazines, newspaper, radio and direct mail. Canadian advertising for Kodak is done by Ogilvy & Mather of Toronto.

U.S.-based Eastman Kodak recently put new batteries and two film drives on the North American market. The batteries are called Kodak Supralife batteries and are for Kodak digital cameras. They are available in two sizes: AA and AAA. Kodak says they last twice as long as other alkaline batteries on the market and have the fastest flash recycle time of any leading alkaline brand. The two new scanners are called the FD 300 and FD 500ix. They are used for the Advanced Photo System. The FD 500ix will initially be used by retailers.
