MTS OFFERS MOBILE DIGITAL PHONE SERVICE
By Adnews Staff
MTS Mobility of Winnipeg went digital this week. The company introduced its digital PCS service in Winnipeg. The service will be available in Brandon, Steinbach and Selkirk later this year. Eventually, it will be rolled out to the entire province. The service offers Call Display, which shows the incoming caller's number, and Message Waiting Visual Indicator, an icon that lights up if there is a message in the Message Centre. Voice Dial will be available in May, so customers will be able to say a name or number to initiate a call. Other services under development include pager and e-mail applications and the ability to surf the Internet from a PCS phone. The digital PCS service will be promoted using radio, TV, newspaper, magazine and outdoor ads created by Palmer Jarvis DDB's Winnipeg office. MTS is a member of the Stentor group of companies.
