TMP TRIES TO FILL HIGH-TECH JOBS

TMP Worldwide of Montreal is trying to get more people in the information technology field. The recruitment ad agency launched the first in a series of newspaper supplements last week to be published in The Globe and Mail. The insert was entitled Canada's Race for Expertise - Information Technology. It focuses on the realistic and factual picture of the Canadian information technology job market. The next supplement will be launched this spring. It will highlight high-tech engineering. Other topics will include: on-campus recruitment, the finance and insurance sectors and the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. The series will be promoted using print ads in The Globe and Mail, as well as posters on The Globe and Mail's distribution boxes and Internet ads. The campaign was created by TMP. TMP says a large number of Canadian companies are facing dramatic employee shortages in the area of information technology.
