VANCITY MOVES INTO FINANCIAL PLANNING MARKET
By Adnews Staff
VanCity Credit Union of Vancouver plans to launch a financial planning service beginning some time in the spring. At first, it will be available at just a few branches, but then it will be rolled out later in the year. Under the plan, members can set up a meeting with a branch-based senior financial services advisor to work out a detailed financial plan using Acumen, a financial planning software package. The report will be reviewed by a registered financial planner who will continue to work with branch staff and the member to implement the plan. VanCity will look at promoting the service through advertising once it is available in all of VanCity's 38 branches, sales vice-president Larry Wald told Adnews yesterday. Advertising for VanCity is done by Grey Canada's Vancouver office.
