HISTORY TV FORMS PROMOTIONAL PARTNERSHIPS
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Alliance Broadcasting teamed up with Air Canada last month to promote its specialty TV station, History Television. Under the deal, the airline will broadcast in-flight vignettes produced by the broadcaster. The daily vignette series will focus on one week in this century. In addition, Alliance has aligned itself with the Sound Source Radio Network and its syndicated radio program called Journey to the 21st Century. Journey will search the files of History Television for the most memorable news events from one particular year. To promote the launch of History Television earlier this fall, Alliance went into partnership with Horn Abbot Ltd. and Hasbro Canada, the producers of the Trivial Pursuit game. The first of several promotions was a series of History Television postcards depicting Canadian images and a historical trivia question. The postcards were distributed to over 120 National historical sites. Historical vignettes also appear on video screens at 428 Brewers' Retail stores throughout Ontario. Advertising for History Television is done by Harrod & Mirlin of Toronto.
