SONY UNVEILS NEW MONITORS

U.S.-based Sony Corp. recently added three new models of monitors to its line-up in North America that feature advanced new Trinitron technology. The new models are called the CPD-100ES/200ES, the CPD-200GS and the GDM-200PS/400PS/500PS. The CPD-100ES/200ES are low-end monitors that feature Sony's Trinitron CRT technology, a .25mm aperture grille pitch and on-screen digital controls such as brightness, contrast, horizontal and vertical size and centering. The monitors are available in 15-inch and 17-inch sizes. The CPD-200GS is for the corporate user and is 17-inches in size. Sony says the monitor offers improved image quality and clarity across the entire screen and a corporate audio speaker. The speaker is designed into the cabinet and provides basic monitoring of multimedia applications. The GDM-200PS/400PS/500PS monitors are geared to graphics professionals. They are 21-inches in size and feature on-screen digital controls and high scan rates. In Canada, Sony is promoting the monitors by incorporating them into a print campaign that has been running since October. The ads were created by Roche, Macaulay & Partners Advertising, while media buying was done by Strategic/Ampersand. Both agencies are based in Toronto.
