FINESSE GETS BAD HAIR DAYS UNDER CONTROL

DDB Needham Worldwide is the agency behind a TV campaign that broke last week for Helene Curtis' Finesse brand of hair care products. Produced through a collaboration of The Players Film Company, Calibre Digital Design, Flashcut and Louder Music, the two spots use a combination of live action, special effects and 2D and 3D computer animation. In one commercial, the model's hair spins into a tornado funnel, then falls into place. The other shows a woman's hair being transformed into a roaring lion and then going back to a perfect hairdo. Each spot finishes with the tag line "Anything is manageable when you've got Finesse." The commercials are supported by point-of-purchase materials created by the Program Design Group of Toronto.
