CLEARNET EXPANDS PCS SERVICE

Clearnet Communications of Pickering, Ont. entered the Alberta market last week with the launch of its personal communications cellular service in Calgary and Edmonton. In Edmonton digital PCS service is available now, while in Calgary analog service is being used until next spring, when digital service will become available. In addition, Clearnet launched its digital PCS service in the Ottawa-Hull region this week. The company began operating in Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto in October. The service is being promoted using TV, newspaper, radio and billboard ads, as well as free-standing inserts in newspapers. The campaign was created by Taxi Advertising & Design of Toronto. Media Experts of Montreal handled the media buy.
