NEW MAGAZINE EXAMINES THE FUTURE OF HEALTHCARE

Parkhurst Publishing of Toronto launched a healthcare magazine last month that will allow healthcare stakeholders an opportunity to share their insights and opinions on the future direction of healthcare. Call the Health Policy Forum, each edition will focus on health policy issues using roundtable discussions among different players in the health field. The discussion will appear in a written format in the magazine, allowing all sides of the issue to be examined. The first issue of Health Policy Forum focused on Quebec's universal drug plan, as well as covering topics such as how employers feel about their new role in healthcare, stress, work and health, as well as what's happening in back pain. Regular features will include health conference highlights, questions for the editorial board and provincial health policy updates. Health Policy Forum will have a controlled circulation for the first year. Currently is has a print run of 7,000 and is distributed to players in the healthcare industry such as doctors offices. Merck Frosst Canada of Kirkland, Que. will provide the funding for the magazine for the first six months.
