HASBRO TO MARKET TELETUBBIES

U.S.-based Hasbro, Inc. has been given the toy and game license for the TV series Teletubbies. The multi-year agreement calls for Hasbro to market a range of products in North America available at retail next fall, with additional product shipping in 1999. The license includes soft toys, figures, games, puzzles, bath toys, juvenile products and infant care products. The toys will be marketed under several of Hasbro's brands including Playskool, Playskool Baby, Milton Bradley and Parker Brothers. Teletubbies is a show for kids over the age of one that was developed by the itsy bitsy Entertainment Co. of New York. The company says the show nourishes children's thinking skills, encourages them to listen and anticipate the characters' actions and build their confidence. In Canada, advertising for Hasbro is done by Griffin, Bacal, Volny of Toronto.
