CIBC PARTNERS WITH KELLOGG
By Adnews Staff
The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce has teamed up with Kellogg Canada of Toronto to give children a head start in their education. The two launched a program earlier this month in which kids can earn five dollars in a CIBC SmartStart account by collecting special coins found in specially-marked boxes of Kellogg's Mini-Wheats, Froot Loops, Corn Pops, Corn Flakes, Just Right, Raisin Bran and Honey-Nut Corn Flakes. Once kids collect five coins they can be redeemed for a deposit of five dollars in a CIBC SmartStart bank account. There are also five instant win coins, which will give finders a chance to win a grand prize scholarship worth $10,000 or one of four $2,500 scholarships. The program is being supported with national TV spots created by Leo Burnett Co. of Toronto. The commercials stress the importance of saving for a child's education. CIBC is offering in-branch brochures to promote the program. CIBC's advertising is done by Padulo Integrated of Toronto. The promotion will run until Jan. 30. Coins can be redeemed until Oct. 15. CIBC's SmartStart program is an educational program that introduces children to the world of finances and offers parents tools to help their kids learn about money. The program includes special financial products, a parents' advice kit, a CD-ROM and an interactive Web site aimed at helping kids learn about financial management.
