SONY PROMOTES SPORTS VIDEO GAMES

Sony Computer Entertainment America (Canada) of Toronto has teamed up with Canadian sports teams to promote its video game titles NHL Face Off '98 and NBA ShootOut '98. The company has launched national TV commercials in support of the games. The spots were created by TBWA Chiat/Day of Toronto. In addition, there are in-stadium ads at games for The Vancouver Canucks and Grizzlies, Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs, the partners in the promotion. The in-stadium ads quiz viewers with sports trivia while showing footage of the NHL's and NBA's rising stars. The in-stadium ads were created by Segal Communications of Toronto. Sony markets the Playstation video game system.
