L'OREAL BUYS SUNSCREEN FROM DERMTEK

L'Oreal S.A. of New York has added another sunscreen to its product line. The cosmetics company has bought the Ombrelle Sunscreen brand from Dermtek Pharmaceuticals of Dorval, Quebec. Cosmair Canada of Montreal is L'Oreal's Canadian subsidiary. It hasn't decided yet which of its agencies will handle Canadian advertising for Ombrelle. Cossette Communication-Marketing, Marketel and BCP, all of Montreal, handle advertising for Cosmair. Taxi Advertising & Design of Montreal created ads for Ombrelle when it was owned by Dermtek. Cosmair also markets sunscreen products under its Vichy, Lancome, Biotherm and Laroche-Posay lines.
