GAYLORD BUYS HIGH-TECH PR FIRM

The Gaylord Group of Toronto has bought PR firm Atkins & Ellis of Toronto. A&E will be merged with Gaylord's Spectrum Public Relations. The move will give Spectrum high-tech expertise, while its gives A&E more experience in product-specific promotions. Gaylord is still deciding on a name for the agency. A&E managing partners Simon Atkins and Kevin Ellis will retain their managing partner titles at the new agency for the next few months. Spectrum's client list includes: Scotts/KFC, Canadian Management Centre, Chrysler Canada, Citizens Bank and Dairy Queen. A&E's clients include Claris Canada, Bay Networks, Cyberplex and Philips Electronics.
