LEO BURNETT RESIGNS FRUIT OF THE LOOM

Toronto-based Leo Burnett Co. has resigned from the North American Fruit of the Loom account because of "differencies in creative philosophy." Because of the differences, Fruit of the Loom has put its account up for review and Leo Burnett has chosen not to participate. Fruit of the Loom began working with Leo Burnett in 1992, when it awarded the agency's Chicago office the U.S. advertising account. That relationship expanded into Canada in 1993. After the launch of the Toronto office's 'Clothesline' campaign in 1995, Fruit of the Loom's North American business was consoldiated in Canada in March, 1996. Leo Burnett's Toronto office managed creative and media planning, while the Chicago office handled media buying.
