IRISH AIRLINE TO ALLOW IN-FLIGHT ADS
By Adnews Staff
Dublin-based airline Ryanair will be accepting advertising on its in-flight TV sets by the end of the year. The discount airline hopes to have the system operating over the Chirsmas season, when Ryanair expects to carry over 250,000 passengers on European continental routes. The TV's video will change each month and will contain five minutes of entertainment content. Another 20 minutes will be devoted to promoting the airline and paid commercials. Instead of headphones, the sound will be broadcast over the airplane's PA system. A 10-second spot will cost $1,000(US), and will have a reach of 468,000 passengers. A 30-second spot will cost $2,000 and a 60-second spot will cost $3,600. Ryanair flies to France, Brussels, Sweden and the U.K.
