OHA EXPLAINS CHANGES TO HEALTH CARE SYSTEM
By Adnews Staff
The Ontario Hospital Association launched a print campaign this week to help the public understand the changes underway in the health care system. The campaign also encourage them to become involved in the future direction of health care in the province. The $500,000 newspaper campaign reaches into every community in Ontario in which there is a hospital. The program explains the changes in the system and state that the hospitals support the changes as long as they do not compromise patient care. The ads feature a 1-888 phone number so people can call to leave their comments about the health care system and/or to receive a free booklet entitled The Future of Health Care: A Guide to the Changes Underway in Ontario. The campaign was created by the Wolf Group of Toronto. The province's Tory government plans to close some hospitals and amalgamate services. OHA is the collective voice of over 200 hospitals in the province. It is a non-profit organization providing advocacy on behalf of its members.
