AT&T AND LOTUS STAYING TOGETHER IN THE 90s
By Adnews Staff
AT&T Corp. and Lotus Development will continue to do business together even though Lotus has a new owner which is sometimes a competitor of AT&T. Last month International Business Machines bought Lotus for $3.5 billion(US). However, AT&T and Lotus anounced last week that they have expanded an agreement to co-market a system called AT&T Network Notes, and that they will continue to work together until the end of the decade. AT&T Notes combines Lotus Notes software with AT&T's communications networks. This is designed to let companies share and edit documents and exchange electronic mail over phone lines among various offices without the expense of running their own networks. AT&T also intends to combine Network Notes with other Lotus products, such as Internotes Web Publisher which manipulates Lotus Notes documents so they can be used on the World Wide Web.
