DRUG COMPANY GETS READY FOR ALLERGY SEASON
By Adnews Staff
Hoechst Marion Roussel Canada of Laval, Quebec is gearing up for allergy season. The company launched an over-the-counter non-sedating antihistamine drug to the Canadian market last week. The drug is being promoted using radio, TV, newspaper and outdoor advertising created by SMW Advertising of Toronto. Allegra is related to Seldane, which was proven in the past few years to be unsafe if taken with other medication. Hoechst Marion Roussel says worldwide clinical studies of more than 5,000 allergy sufferers show Allegra is safe. Seldane is available behind-the-counter in Canada, but the pharmaceutical company is encouraging Seldane users to try Allegra.
