COOKIE MAKER EXPANDS MARKET

Monsieur Felix & Mr. Norton Cookies Inc. of Montreal will introduce specialty cookie boutiques in Metro-Richelieu supermarkets beginning late next month. The cookie maker hopes to have its outlets in 50 Metro-Richelieu outlets over the next five years. The move will expand Monsieur Felix's customer base. "This new concept is complementary to our network of franchise outlets, since the participating Metro retailers operate in regions that do not compete with our own stores," Monsieur president Michael Eskenazi says in a release. Initially, Monsieur Felix will promote the boutiques using local print ads created by Imaginad of Montreal. As it opens more outlets it will increase advertising using mainly radio as well as some print, direct mail and TV during special occasions. Currently, Monsieur Felix has 24 stores in Quebec and three in Toronto.
