RESTAURANT CHAIN TO FIGHT DRUG ABUSE

Humpty's Family Restaurants of Calgary has teamed up with Western Canadian addiction prevention programs to launch a campaign combating drug abuse. The campaign, which uses TV and radio ads, focus on the importance of spending time together as a family, as well as on the idea that open communication is key in the prevention of alcohol and other drug abuse. Posters are also being used. The TV ads have already begun in Alberta and will launch in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and B.C. later this summer. The radio ads will begin in September. The campaign was created in-house by Humpty's and the addiction prevention programs that are taking part. The addiction prevention programs involved in the campaign include the Alberta Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission and the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba. Humpty's has 27 locations in Alberta, three in British Columbia, nine in Saskatchewan and three in Manitoba.
