ISTAR OFFERS ROAMING SERVICE ISTAR
By Adnews Staff
Internet of Ottawa introduced its roaming service this week, giving customers access to their personal or business e-mail accounts, news and the Internet in 150 countries. The Internet service provider has been able to do this through its partnership with U.S.-based iPass. Instead of paying long-distance charges to connect back to their originating point-of-access when traveling outside of Canada, iSTAR customers can dial a local phone number and pay on a per-minute usage based on hourly rates, plus an additional flat fee per month. The roaming service will be promoted using print, radio and Internet ads, as well as direct mail done by INET Group of Oakville, Ont.
