EIGHT AGENCIES TRYING TO JUMP IN THE POOL

Eight Toronto PR agencies are battling to get into the agency pool with the Ontario government. The agencies that made it to the short list are: Enterprise Canada Group, Environics Communications, Goodman Communications, Howe & Co., Manifest Communications, McManus Elliott, L.E.B. International/Worldcom and Temple Scott & Associates, all of Toronto. Presentations will be heard next week. The Ontario government decided to use a pool of at least four PR agencies for most of its departments instead of having separate ones for each department. The move is being made because budgets are getting smaller and the government wanted to streamline the process for short timelines. In addition, departments can obtain the services of an agency quickly without having to go through a costly competition.
