NEC RELEASES MINI-COMPUTER

U.S.-based NEC Corp. introduced a handheld computer to the North American market this week. Called the MobilePro 450, the mini-machine supports Microsoft Corp.'s Windows CE operating system and runs several Windows-based desktop PC applications. MobilePro weighs less than a pound, can be connected to a PC or laptop via the serial port and has e-mail, Internet, faxing and paging capabilities. In Canada, print advertising supports the launch of the machine. It was created by The Cohen Group of Toronto.
