SOFTWARE COMPANY HIRES FIRST PR AGENCY
By Adnews Staff
DYAD Systems of Toronto hired its first PR agency on Aug. 1. The Communications Group of Toronto got the business in a competition with an Ontario firm, and a B.C. agency. The software developer decided to hire an agency because after it was taken over by Consolidated Oriole Communications in April 1995, it became a public company and needs to keep its shareholders informed, company president Al Gerenser told Adnews yesterday. In addition, it wanted to increase its profile, agency founding partner David Eisenstadt said. DYAD is a software developer specializing in government, health care, manufacturing and distribution systems. Its customers include the Toronto Board of Education, The Home Care Program for Metropolitan Toronto and The Ontario Ministry of Environment & Energy.
