SENCO TO INCREASE AD SPEND
By Adnews Staff
Senco Sensors Inc. of Vancouver says it plans to increase its advertising for its new carbon monoxide detectors being launched in North America in October. The company began promoting itself, and what it is is doing, two months ago using print ads in The Financial Post and technology magazines. Joe Kersen, head of investor relations at Senco, told Adnews it hasn't been decided how much the company plans to spend on advertising, but that it will be beefed up once the detector is on the market. Senco says its detectors are designed to be impervious to normal household fumes and reduce the number of false alarms associated with other carbon monoxide detectors. Advertising for Senco is done in-house. The detectors will be the first product launched by the three-year-old company.
