BANK OF MONTREAL PUTS CARD IN MORE MARKETS

The Bank of Montreal launched its combined credit card and telephone calling card in Alberta and Nova Scotia. The card was first introduced in Ontario and Quebec last May. It is also available in New Brunswick and British Columbia. Users earn reward points in two ways: by using their MasterCard when purchasing goods and services and by making long distance calls either from their home number or by using their MasterCard as a calling card. By accumulating points from MasterCard purchases and long distance calling, customers can earn on average one month's worth of free long-distance after one year. In Alberta, the card is being promoted using direct mail and point-of-purchase materials. In Nova Scotia, the card is currently supported by point-of-purchase materials, with direct mail being launched in the fall. The campaigns were created by Cohn & Wells of Toronto.
